Sony Singapore has launched their Walkman Z series mobile entertainment player which claims to be the first to be powered by Google Android. It will be available at all Sony stores and authorized outlets this month.

The Sony Walkman NWZ-Z1050 series features five Clear Audio Technologies – S-Master MX, Clear Bass, Clear Stereo, DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) and EX headphones to provide portable and quality audio experience from Sony Walkman. Powered by 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor and running Google Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system, the Sony Walkman NWZ-Z1050 sports a 4.3-inch anti-reflective touchscreen and comes with xLOUD speaker system that can provide high level of clear sound reproduction from its integrated speaker. The mobile entertainment player has a W.BUTTON that lets you explore your music collection intuitively and enjoy the onscreen visualizations while the music plays. It will also automatically sort your music collection from 14 mood-themed channels, based on your mood and time of the day.

Aside from music playback, you can share and connect to other DLNA-enabled devices, as well as access and download from over 450,000 apps from Google Play (Android Market). On top of that, you can also display your videos. photos and games on your TV via the micro HDMI connector, or wirelessly via Bluetooth to compatible speakers, headphones and hi-fi systems. The Sony Walkman Z1050 comes in 16GB capacity and will retail at S$429 in Sony Stores and authorized outlets this month.
